John and Katie are the best friends everyone wishes they had! These two are nothing short of fun, friendly, and clearly made a gorgeous Bride and handsome Groom. I teamed up with the awesome Ashley Pieper Photography for the second time this month and we of course had a blast photographing the girls at the Bride’s childhood home. They had a seriously talented team for hair and makeup, the mimosas were flowing, and the details Katie put together were so perfect.
Katie and John decided to exchange letters to each other moments before the ceremony. They stood on opposite sides of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and read silently their love notes among their wedding parties. It was such a touching moment (check out John’s sense of humor after he read the letter below). From flower girls pressing their noses against the glass doors as Katie read her letter, to bridesmaids peeking into the sanctuary before the service, and of course the funniest, most down to earth ceremony ever…..this wedding day was one for the books! The marriage, I know, will be even better!
Katie + John invited their friends all aboard the Party Barge, a renovated school bus with the coolest vintage appeal, to head to Hagies in Union and then on to Otis Campbell’s at Washington, Missouri’s Riverfront. These two took time to really enjoy time with each other and their favorite people in some of their favorite hangouts. These moments I know will be some of their favorites!
We finished up with some portraits at Elijah McClane’s house down the street and were so excited to find a perfect golden orange tree to work with considering it was still feeling like late summer in late October here in Missouri. I was able to sneak in some alone time with John + Katie for a mini golden hour session and then back on the Party Barge to head to their reception debut!
I’m going to save those (reception) shots for another day….let’s just say this crew knows how to party!!!! Enjoy!
